Are you mecanically gifted I am weary of doing this myself.

Do you know to part number for the replacment trim? I will get it done on mine when I get the car.

I don't know if I'm gifted, but I wasn't too afraid once the first bolt came out. It shouldn't be so bad since you can see what I did before hand. All I can say is that once I did it, I was glad I didn't pay the dealer for hours of labor.
I don't have the part #'s for the replacement trim, but your parts department should be able to locate them, I think they cost about $89 per trim.
Don't forget to silicone the holes!

looks like you can order roof molding that is painted! someone correct me if I'm wrong, part #51130033781 and 51130033782, as I am going to have my roof rails removed as soon as my car arrives

You are correct.

I think they come in primed. You will have to get them painted. My car will be Black Sapphire so I will go with the plain black molding.

Congrats on the car. My blacklines and my winter tires/winter alloys are on the way. Have fun on your ED.

someone help!! I am having my roof rails removed by the dealer, but I cant get the moldings! They say its a european part that they cant order! I have called several dealerships, and no luck. I called BMW USA customer service, and no luck! I sent a message to Chitown, but he has not responded. The painted part numbers are a few posts up from this, and the primed part numbers are: 51137124257 and 51137124258. If anyone has any idea where I can get these, please let me know. I will be willing to pay someone in europe to buy them for me and ship them to me. Thanks!

My dealer can order any part I want, even euro parts. I have quite a few euro trim coming my way (E91 chrome window trim and roof molding trim, they also could have ordered me euro xenon but I found a cheaper source). Try different dealers. You should be able to find one that has access to euro part catalogue.

I love this look. I agree that it may even look better than the sedan. I only wish the 335 came in Touring. I was so close to getting a 530XiT with a 6-speed, but it had high miles and no CPO. To me this is the ultimate, who needs SUVs or Minivans?

update on my situation: dealer quoted me 11.5 hours to remove roof rails!! so, I declined, and I will do the job myself this Saturday, pics to come!
