Sounds like something moving in the boot (trunk)

Hi All,

First post here.

I recently took my E90 for it's MOT, and there was a warning for NearSide Shock Absorber which had leaked all of its oil and was listed as urgent replacement (It actually failed the MOT because of this).

So I had the garage who did the MOT do the replacement of the shock absorber, but now there is a lot of noise whenever going over bumps, which sounds like there is something in the boot moving about (I completely emptied the boot and even took up the floor (not the surround trim though) and it still does it.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I took it back to the garage and they said they'd checke the shock again and made sure everything was tight but it still does it, and it's fekkin annoying when driving.

Well obviously they did something to trigger it. Have a drive with one of the mechanics and just bother them until they fix it. Post of video of it?

Did you check your rear shock mounts?

Do me a favor; with your car off go to the driver rear of the car and pull up on the wheel well by the fender to push it up and down; do the same of the passenger rear. If it's making any sound it's because of your shock mounts.
