Let's say if the dealer upgrades the ECU's software will the tune be removed? Also does this remove the rev limiter or the speed limiter?
If the dealer upgrades the ECU's software the tune would get overwritten yes, the tune would have to be written in again.

Speed limiter we can remove, no point in adjusting the rev limit at the moment (though we of course can)

And would this entail having to buy a new tune from Evolve?

Paul, could you give the collective "us" an idea of the process of removing the ecu and shipping it? Do you have a tutorial somewhere on your website?

On Monday we will take some pictures and do a small write up on how to remove the DME for people who are not local and can't have us do it.

By far one of the coolest things you've showed me at the shop! It's pretty cool how precise and accurate everything was designed!

Isn't it 99% the same as removing it from the n54 platform? Or is the location different? Can't imagine it is.

Went to a-spec yesterday but we couldn't find a rpm signal to go off of. I really wanted to see the TQ numbers from this tune (can't get that without rpm signal) so I chose not to do it and find a dyno that could pick it up or figure out a way to get the signal.

Sorry it didn't workout. If you don't mind driving out to St. Charles, I highly recommend taking it to Dean's Performance.

He's dyno'd a ton of E46 M3s from ChiTownM and an E90 M3 for VS Motorsports.

You should be able to tap into the RPM reading from the DME. If I have time, I can try to take a pic of which wire it is. I'm pretty sure it's black or purple though
