bumper paint touch up

i have an 07 335i sedan in titan silber. the bumper cover under one of the fog lights took a scrape on a curb. are there any rattle can paints that are a close enough match for underneath to not be a blatant mismatch?
thanks in advance.

Probably not; it'll look awful with a random rattle can. The dealer and various online sites have factory touch up paint which will be pretty close.

If you want it in a can, find yourself a local body shop supplier who can mix one up for you. I've done this before with another vehicle and the results were very good.

I'm assuming the tiny bottles of touch-up paint from the dealership wouldn't work well given the type of scrape. If it would work though, I'd just go this route.

yes, the scrape is too large an area to try the touch up kit so i was hoping something pre-canned might be close enough to get away with for a daily. and realistically speaking a chance for it just to get again scraped up.. thanks for your responses.

Touchy touch up....

I have an '08 E93, color is Atlantic Blue. It has the metallic finish like silver. I had a scrape/nick on my front bumper cover near the upper front fender. After sanding and primer, it was the size of a lemon. Stopped at a local body shop and they quoted $846 to remove and paint the front bumper. They told me that the computer shows six different shades for my color and they will choose the one that matches the adjacent panels.
OK, big choice now. I decided to cheap it out and ordered a basecoat and clear coat from Automotive Finishes for $38. I had to paint a larger area than the lemon. Color match is not bad but I am still fine tune sanding the clearcoat to try to match to the panels.
Good luck.

I also have a titan silber bmw. I had a little scrape on my drivers front wheel arch.

This is the site you need to visit:
https://www.automotivetouchup.com

After much research, I came to the conclusion that the aerosol cans are the best option for metallic paint jobs so you don't end up with gobs or streaks of flakes from brushing.

Also lesson learned from me.. tape off panels not to be painted but leave room to feather the new paint against the existing paint.
