Question about wheel widht
I just bought a 335is that has the BMW 442M wheel on them and I really don't like them so I planned on selling them, keeping the tires and getting the Avant Garde M359.
My question is if I get 19x9 and 19x10 will the wheels still fit ok on the car? |

They will with the right offsets. I'm picking up a set of 437M which are the exact same size. Offsets are 29 in front(a little aggressive) and 40 on the rear(this is fine). Should be able to run either a 235-245/30 in the front and 275/30 in the rear...but still confirming those sizes before I order. Your iS is LCI, which has a bit less room in the rear due to the widened track of the car.
What are the offsets of the wheels? What are the tire sizes? |

Like my goal would be to have a nice flush setup with the least ammount of having to use spring or spacers. Forgot about tire size, picking the car up this Thursday. |

Well, those are both key aspects of "fitment". Also is how much work you're willing to do to obtain it...i.e. fender rolling, negative camber...
The most recommended wheel specs are 8.5 front, and 9.5 rear with a mid-thitries offset for both. Many deviate from this for the look they want, and those who deviate greatly have to do additional work to keep from rubbing. |

^^what he said. You need to know offsets! And then depending on if you want your tires to stretch or "bulge"/meat, you'd need to account for that too.
I think mid-30 offset isn't flush on its own, most use spacers with that. Prob need to go to mid-high 20s, but again depends on wheel width also (try work together)

Ok so got the car home now and the front tire are 225/40 R19 and rear are 255/35 R19. I would like to stay in the 19 preferably as won't have to buy new tires and if you look at the fitment in terms of ride height it's not bad and almost flush to the top. Only thing is they are to much inside the fender. Except if we push them out with 19s I guess it would rub? Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 07-29-2018 at 03:55 PM.. |

I think you confused front and rear sizes.
But those sizes seem just a bit on the tall side, prob won't create an issue. Throw some spacers, maybe 12-15 out back, 5-10 up front...

So which wheel size should I be looking at and offsets? Like I don't mind using spcaers to get perfect fitment just the best I can get before spacers the best. I either looking at VMR VB03 or Avant Garde M359. Their 19inches wheels have different width options. |

You should sell both wheels and tires, and buy new in the right sizes. 8.5" and 9.5" with offsets in the mid thirties is the most common and most go with 235/35 and 265/30 for tires.
Some will add spacers with the above. You'll need to do some research and find photos of others to see if that is the fit you're looking for. |

Use this site to help figure out wheel spec for fitment. Compares what you have with new dimensions, and tells you how much more clearance you need. Then you check that against what's on your car. Willtheyfit.com

Right, those aren't the tire sizes your car would've come with so, theoretically, your speedo is already off by 3-4mph when your speedo reads 60.
Now, obviously they work on the car, but they limit your wheel spec choices as far as a more flush fit. They're also too narrow for the 9 and 10 inch widths you first asked about...unless you're into the super stretched look. |

My tire sizes turns out are actually OEM the difference to OEM is they are 19s instead of 18s. But the rest of the sizing is the same to what my door stickers read for tire pressure. |

Your current tires are 1 profile larger than stock. Your speedo is already off stock, it probably is actually correct now. |

Once you get it it's not that bad though... If tire size is 235/35/19, this is what it means: 235 = tire width measured in mm 35 = sidewall height measured as a % of width (in this case, 35% of 235mm; this is why a 235/35 tire is shorter than a 255/35 tire) 19 = diameter of rim, easy As you change tire and rim sizes, the goal is to keep the overall diameter the same. So whether you change your width, or rim size, it's the second number (sidewall ratio %) that changes to achieve a diameter the same as original. Hope that helps.

Will probably make another post before buying the Avant garde wheels to confirm for last time, don't want to end up with 1500$ of wheels that I picked up in another country that end up not fitting haha. I may get new tires to, if I can sell these for a lot, they are almost new. |
