I’ve had no problems on two road trips.
Trip 1 several years ago: Bay Area to Whistler BC Canada and back with stops in Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Trip 2 last year: Bay Area to Las Vegas - Zion National Park - Page, AZ - North and South Rims of Grand Canyon - back to Las Vegas - LA - home in the Bay No issues at all and fun as hell. Wish I would’ve had my stereo system in for those drives though.

The first week I got it I drove to the grocery store and the water pump went out the second I turned out of my neighborhood. In the two years that I have owned it, I've practically replaced the whole car, mechanical wise, and it hasn't given up on me yet. I plan to drive to Seattle from Los Angeles so hopefully it doesn't give up then.

Really? You drove 2200/2 days = 1,100 miles/day. Either you're lying or you were driving at a felonious rate of speed.

I drove 997.4 miles on January 3, from Birmingham, AL to Odessa or Monahans, TX. Left at 10:00AM or so, got the hotel at 1AM on the 4th.
On January 4 I woke up in the hotel and drove to Costa Mesa, CA, but I got lost trying to find gasoline south of Orange County. I did get a ticket in Arizona for 94 in a 75. It was the damned interference from semi trucks, I think. I still need to check to see if I have the latest firmware on that thing. So I did about 1150 miles on the 4th. Got to my new house in Costa Mesa at about 12:15 PST. I said right there in my post I did long stretches of 120+ in Texas. Like probably 90 minutes at 135mph (the speed limiter!) and at least another hour at 120+. No lie. Texas is big and empty. When it's flat like that, my radar detector (V1) can catch a state trooper from about two miles away. Not that there are any of them hiding between Odessa and El Paso. It's like the Autobahn.

I was pretty spoiled living in central Alabama. I was able to pretty frequently find places to do fun runs like that. I don't like doing it around a lot of traffic, obviously. I-20 in Texas seemed to be in surprisingly nice condition. And they must have recently redone I-10 from where it begins in Texas. We both know that NE weather is tough on roads.

The farthest I have driven mine so far is from my home to Charlotte, NC and back. About 135 miles round trip. That's nothing compared to most of you guys, though, lol.

My 330i has been exceedingly trustworthy over my six years of ownership. With 144k on the clock I’ve done all the routine maintenance along with the water pump, starter and oil filter housing. Getting ready to refresh the suspension for the next 100k.

I'm still loving my 12 year old gal, a 325i. Closing in on 200K miles and she still purrs. Maintenance over the years were all just normal shit and of course expected, but if I were to place "BMW" and "reliable" in the same sentence which we all know is rare, I wouldn't flinch saying it about this car. Maybe I got lucky, but luck's always better than good!

When I first got my car 2 years ago(less then a week having it, no maintenance) I made a trip from Sacramento to LA/SD and back no problem. Then last year I did it again for a birthday trip with some friends(had done most maint. by then). Drive it every day 80 mile commute, usually a few 3 or so hour(one way) trips/drives a month.

I get in a lot of miles a month, probably more than I should, but I just love driving it so much, it's quickly become my favorite thing to do along with working.
I got it late November of 2017 with 143.9k mls and as of today I have 151.8k mls, so I have done on average of 40 mls per day and 1300 per month, if you want to get into averages. I feel like I will maybe put less miles on it once I start college. |

ups and downs
I bought my 07 328i just over a year ago. Put 40k km on it in that period. Water pump went on me the first month at 185k km. Turns out that is expected. I did the valve cover gasket back in December (didn't go well). Just did the VCG again last week properly this time...! Car is running great again which is good cause I need emission test done next week. Even though I bought a scanner just for this car I do trust it.I do all the maintenance and repairs that I can myself. I have taken it on 1000km trips frequently and it has been from Toronto to Nova Scotia and back, 3000km roundtrip. Love the way the car drives and highway fuel efficiency is excellent. All cars have their ups and downs...

I'm at 113k. I have never broken down or failed to start. Never been stranded. I feel confident driving it anywhere. The only thing I would worry about is getting a flat since I no longer use runflats and dont have a spare.

I'm tempted to drive mine from Chicago to Minnesota, but I'm afraid it will poop on me lol.. So might just settle driving the civic. Less headaches
