what is this cooler for

I was looking at the front side of my radiator and noticed a smaller cooler. at first i thought that this may be an oil cooler but it looks to this. would anyone know what it is ill try to get a picture of it when I get time later. when i bought the car it already had some things done to it so I'm not completely sure if it is stock but it looks light it is. it is also set behind the solid part of the bumper in between the vent for the intercooler and the grills

If you have an automatic, maybe it's a transmission fluid cooler. I am not aware of one for BMW, but maybe someone here can confirm.
