Any recommendations on new suspension for my 2008 E90 328xi

I'm in Sagamore Hills OH and planning to upgrade my suspension. Not sure what route to go. I have 2008 E90 328xi on Volk Racing wheels. They are 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear, staggered setup. Looking for coil-overs or another setup (Would like to lower the vehicle if possible). My rear struts are leaking.

Would like to stay in the budget of $1000 to $1500 with the installation included. Does anyone have a friend or a shop who can install near Cleveland OH?

Lots of DIYs and Youtube videos to do it yourself. Don't want to deal with springs compressors? You can order complete sets from tons of places. StrutMonkey is one of them and I've used them. But it's fairly easy to piece them together yourself or get a "kit" from tons of other shops.

Questions people will ask are whether you're actually going to track or consistently run spiritedly through the twists? Or are you mainly looking for drop/stance? (be honest)

But seems $1000-1500 doesn't leave you much room for a serious coilover setup. Maybe just some nice Konis/Bilsteins B8 and springs of your choice. I'm sure there are specifics for the Xi that I'm not considering, so you may want to visit that forum section for specific answers.

you're gonna have to diy to stay within that budget even just swapping out shocks/struts and springs let alone a coilover setup.

I'm in a similar boat with my '07 328xi. I'm swapping out my BC Racing coilovers for slightly better than OEM spring and shock setup. Just trying to decide what to get. Springs and struts for all four corners will run you like $850-1000 (what I'm finding). I might even get the Dinan supplemental bumpstop handling kit.

Not to derail the OPs topic but, nah, too harsh for NYC. I had BCs mated to 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. It was brutal. Granted I need new bushings and rubber suspension parts all around (which I'm having installed when I get the suspension redone). These days I dont care about "performance" and just a little about looks. I want smooth and comfortable with some good looks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm pricing out OEM suspension from FCP Euro and it's looking like it's just as much as the Koni and Eibach kit from TireRack.

Depending on how long you plan to keep the car/how much work you want to do in the winter, I really liked the ST Coilovers I had on my old '07 328i. I set them just a few clicks down from the most firm setting and it was great. Handled like a go kart and the ride was still pretty nice - but I was on the stock style 156s with massive sidewalls.

They're KW coilovers, only the ST brand are made with galvanized vs stainless steel. Means that the complete set of coils and shocks is about $1200 before shipping.

Without a new post in a crowded subject matter I'll just give update for everyone with my new setup as my contribution to the OP's topic.

I had the BC Racing coilovers removed from all four corners and replaced them with Bilstein Touring shocks and Eibach Pro-Kit springs. New bump stops, new almost everything that's needed to mount new shocks and struts to the car. Also had the mechanic install FCP's 6-piece control arm kit.

Night and day from the BC setup. I can get into more detail if anyone would like to hear about it. That said, I'm happy I swapped them out even though it cost a fortune.
