New 335i coupe! Now what!?

Hey everyone!

I recently grabbed a 2007 BMW 335i coupe, had it for about two weeks. Already LOVE the heck out of it. Has about 67000 miles, dealer says its in excellent mechanical condition.

First mod I'm going to do is swap out the standard shift knob for the leather ZHP six-speed M shift knob (not sure if I want the lighted version or not).

I was thinking about upgrading the halo's to the bright white instead of the standard amber color. Any suggestions on where would be the best place to go for this?

The wheels are already 18s and look pretty good to me. But of course there are probably better ones out there. I am new to the Bimmer world. Just wanted some suggestions on what small upgrades could make this gorgeous beauty even more beautiful!

My phone isn't letting me post a picture but I can put one up soon.

Thanks! I appreciate everyone's input.

Hi buddy

Glad to see you went with e 92 instead of the usual e90.. Which I think looks gastly tbh.

Depends what your really looking for when you want to mod?

Cosmetic or performance based?

Cosmetic I would say, but this is what I like and everyone's different.

19" M6 style wheels

Angel eye upgrade: (plenty! To look for In this department, look in the lighting section, sticky at the top that shows nearly every company that does aftermarket angel eyes)

I would look at lux v3s.

Depending on your look you want to go for I would say black out your front kidneys and get some 35% tint in there

Performance parts, there's PLENTY of info on here, plenty of tuners.

Burger tuning is good, and very common on here, JB4, DCI are common first performance bolt ons.

Have a surf around and see what you like!

You can probably add a front lip, it will make the front look more aggressive.
Rear spoiler can go after the front lip.
Then 19" or 20" wheels and H&H sport springs to drop the car by 1.5 inches.

On the power side, get a JB4, you will feel the power increase and will love it.

Most of the above can be bought used from forum members for very good prices.

But, be careful, when you start modding, it's hard to stop!

I did a couple of minor cosmetic mods first (black kidney grills, trunk spoiler, etc) then a year later I bought the car, I purchased a JB4.

It's not that I regret getting the cosmetic parts, but if I could do it all over again I would buy the jb4 first.

A lot of people try the "golf tee mod" so give that a try as well.

now : open the trunk and do this -> http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80661
order a jb4 + dci
That alone will make you smile uncontrollably.

I got my car less than a year ago. Also a 2007 coupe. I have jb4. 19 inch gunmetal forgestar f14's. Trunk Spoiler. REEEAALLY want the mtech front/rear bumper + m3 sideskirts.

Awesome! Thanks All.

After browsing around a bit it definitely looks like the JB4 is high up on the list of things to purchase.
Right after this shift knob and the Halos of course (easy stuff).

Wish I could do the exhaust mod and tint, but in my town there is a cop on every other corner, so I wouldn't make it far without having to deal with the LAW

I'm glad a lot of this stuff is DIY. I'd be eating lunchables everyday if I had to take this thing to a dealer/mechanic.

Here is what my new baby looks like now. Still gives me goosebumps when I look at her.

Sidemarkers, painted reflector, black exterior trim are subtle and inexpensive. Maybe black kidneys.

My Halo's are AngleIbrights, no problems here.

Depending if you wanted a aggressive look I would do the following

Black out your exterior chrome trim , black kidneys, and some new wheels.

Jb4 and DCI are 2 mods that are cheap and will produce good power gains.

After you get all the mods listed above, I would recommend the LCI taillights. They have come down in price and the are one of my favorite mods on my car.

Keep it as is and make it a sleeper!

But if that isn't your thing than paint reflectors, window tint, coilovers, and when you get tired of your rims go light 18" rims if you want pure performance or 19" for a nice show and go.

Looks exactly like my car when I first got it but mines was a 328i

Nice! I'd go jb4 before anything else. Have the intake valves been cleaned?

Doesn't everyone love the awkward side and rear profile of the E93? I would even go out on a limb and call it ghastly.
