Looking for someone to take my friend.....
My friend is looking at a new M3 and I am trying to explain to him that he will be happier with the 335i with a chip.....
He just got off of his ship in Newport News Virginia area and I live out in NorCal or I would do it. Can anyone help with getting him a ride so he doesn't blow the money on M3 but can enjoy the beating m3s with is his 335 Thank you all in advance for the help... Bryon

if u ever drive an m3, you won't want a 335i.
i love the 335 for what it is worth, but the m3 is pure sex on wheels. the 335i is more car than most people can handle and by any means it's not a shabby car. But i think anyone who can afford a M3 is gonna have a hard time convincing to get a 335i.

well.....purchasing an M3 is a tough decision for me.....I have the E93 and for a daily driver I love it. There are two benefits in my mind on the M3 vs Chipped 335.
1. is not having to worry about killing the oil temps.... 2. is the factory diff M3 is a race car/track toy 335 is street blating fun.... both have there place....and glad you love your m3 Also remember that price isn't a factor...

Its seems like you are no friend telling a guy what we'll be happy with. A 335i, as good as it is, is no M3, believe me because I test drove my friends M and WOW it just wet your pants. If a chipped 335i and bragging you can beat a M3i s your bag. I guess you will never be in a bigger league. I cant say much for a guy that explains he wants an M3 but just cant afford it than a guy that chips his turbo, looks for a M3 on the road to have his cheap 15 sec thrill at the expense of breaking his warranty. I love my car but I hope to get a used e92 M in 3 yrs. Last edited by PocketRocket; 06-17-2008 at 06:35 AM.. |

So I don't want this to get into an M3 vs 335i debate. The bottom line is I am not telling him one way or the other. I just want him to make the 20K decision knowing the difference between the two.
I have driven both cars. I know if I drive the E93 hard I will kill it. His car will spend the most of the time in an airport parking lot or on a ship. His access to smooth roads are minimal. He can afford whatever he wants....he started with an e63 and has moved his way to e93 or e93ms. I am just looking for him to have the choices. When you remove the money issues and the warranty it is a pure choice of what you like... Good luck on waiting on your m3

I have both in the same house, GF's 335xi coupe, and mine (both AW btw). so, see, and drive both car back to back all the time! honestly, it's no comparison especially given money isn't an issue!!
