[E93] Check My Research/Logic: Adaptive Headlight Unit & Modules
My issue is to troubleshoot an Adaptive Headlight Malfunction Error.
So I purchased a salvaged front end 2012 E93 328i. The seller did the repairs and says the only thing left is to change out to get rid of the warning is the module on the "black connector" driver's side. (reference picture only) I remain confused to why as per my research. My research/logic: Ballast module (black connector): increases power for quicker lamp startup ALC module (white connector): controls adaptive headlight movement Does it make sense that a faulty ballast module would tell the car computer to show "Adaptive Light Malfunction Warning"? And even if the ballast module was bad, then wouldn't I be able to easily detect it as I stand in front of the car and someone inside turns on the headlights? It doesn't make sense to me. Which module do I buy to fix the issue? If you guys think that I am looking at this from the wrong angle, or could trouble shoot this in a different way, please let me know.
