Yes, the link takes me to a page showing several Exx.rar files but I can't spot an E90.rar. I assume that is what I need for an E92.

Newbie here hunting for my future e91 here in the Midwest USA. I'm planning on bootcamping an old Macbook for Windows XP (I have the disc) to do basics such as INPA, etc.

But first, I'm going to order a new SSD internal drive so any anybody tell me how big a drive I might need for BMW diagnotics and coding purposes?

I'm an old e30 guy now hankering to spend more on fuel, repairs, maintenance, etc and otherwise re-enjoy the BME experience!

Thanks!!

The size of disk really depends on how many programs you want/need to install. If all you're going to use is BMW Standard Tools (INPA), then a 256GB drive will work. Even if you want to add on ISTA/D, then that same drive should work. ISTA does consume about 20-22GB of space.

Also, I'd go with a supported version of Windows instead of XP. All of these programs will work with Windows 10.

Thanks alot Joe. This is the guidance I need to plan for BMW ownership. I’ll try to figure a path forward for Windows 10 as part of my plans. And maybe a 500gb drive too.

What if you get bimmergeeks standard tools? Unless that's what you used, I never had any errors using their download.

Hi everyone, I hope someone may be able to help me with an odd error!

I have followed the procedure in the OP to install the software and I'm using a silver cable from B-Cables and all appeared to be working okay.

I have just replaced the parking brake actuator (EMF module) under my 2008 X70 X5 and there is still an error on the dash. I tried to code the VIN using NCS-Expert and I can get the VIN from the CAS but the job fails when attempting to write to the EMF.

Further investigation reveals that the EMF appears in INPA, but I get a IFH-0009 No Response From Controller message. INPA connects fine to various other modules in the same vehicle.

I have confirmed with the refurbishers that the module was tested and working on another vehicle before it was dispatched to me and I have visually inspected the loom tail and plug which seems to be in good condition and checked for 12V at the main live and neutral terminals.

So, any ideas? Something funky with my cable? Daten issues? I've found a handful of references to similar behaviour but all the threads dead end without resolution.

Thanks!

BMW Coding Tool - Invalid Picture Error

If you are seeing this error, you may have an invalid value specified in your TMP and TEMP environment variables. This is likely due to conflicting installation instructions which guided you to update those values. Undo that update by removing ";C:\EDIABAS\Bin" from those variables and the error should go away. That's what worked for me. Good luck!

The only requirement for this install is Windows XP through Windows 10, 32 or 64 bit version and a working KDCAN cable. Instead of writing a lengthy detail in this post, I generated the instructions that's included in link below.

If this install has assisted you in achieving a working set up, please click the appreciate link, thanks!

Link no longer works. Anyone have a current link to download the software? I need to do a ABS/DSC module brake fluid bleed, and seems like activating the pump usong INPA is the only real way to do it right. Thanks
