Anyone in Santa Monica with Catless DPs?

I'm trying to decide whether to go catted or catless. I'm moving to AZ so carb compliance isn't as important.

My two main considerations are smell and noise. I don't personally know anyone with them, and I'd like to hear/smell in person so I thought I'd reach out here.

Anyone want to let me hear/smell your exhaust?

if you have an n54 the smell won't be bad because you have secondary cats. if you have an n55 the smell will be really noticeable.

make sure you clean the mating surfaces and replace the gaskets when doing the swap to help prevent any exhaust leaks.

Smell is not an issue, and it sounds better but at the same time not much louder. I’m in Bel Air, can meet somewhere if you wanna check it out yourself

Full catless near Marina del Rey. Drone from 1k to 2k rpm is horrendous. Getting resonators to fix that. Catless DP + secondary cats + PE mod would be perfect.

I have catless DP's, stock exhaust and CAN flaps open. I love the sound, not as loud as I'd like though. No drone either.

I'm in Ktown if you want to check her out.

Thanks everybody! I pulled the trigger on catless DPs and they're being installed now.

Nice, you won't regret it. Are you going to tune now that you're catless?

So how do you like the DPs? Like the sound? Did you feel any performance benefit on the 1+ tune (before flashing 2 if you could wait haha)

I did drive it on 1+ first, performance benefit wasn't huge.

As far as the sound goes, I would say it is both different in terms of tone and volume. Not crazy, and most noticeable at WOT. When you are just cruising along the difference is negligible. It is louder to my ears. The quality/tone is different. Way more noise from the spool up. I don't love that part, but it's not terrible.

Honestly, I expected a bit more of a performance gain going from 1+ to 2+. It does seem easier to break the tires loose and for that reason when traction control kicks in, I think it feels artificially slower. Hoping that the LSD will make getting the power to the ground a bit better.

I also did the control arms up front (rear on order), and hot damn that wakes up the handling. I love it. Not sure how much of a difference the rears will make, but the fronts were 100% worth it.
