iDrive Issue

Hi all I have a BMW 3 Series E92 and been having problems with the iDrive since Ive got it.

The Sat Nav does not work I bought an updated CD still nothing...
This morning I had an error code pop up saying that "SOS Call System Failure" or something along those lines. The error code is a picture of a phone and a line goes across it diagnally. Ive read some previous posts saying it was a commen fault and requires a simple update.

The symptoms are now that I can not connect my phone or listen to music via AUX or USB. However CD and Radio work fine.

Anyone can recommend any garages near London that can sort thia out. BMW quoted 90 just for diagnostic for an hour!! Car is for sale so I'm not looking to spend a whole load of money on it!

Sounds like your TCU has packed up - this will give the sos failure warning & stop Bt, USB from working!

BUT: it doesn't explain the CCC Nav - are you using a genuine BMW map DVD? If not - try a copy you know for sure works. If it still doesn't work, then it's your CCC that has gone & not the TCU.

I am using the genuine CD from 2007 and have bought the 2015 map update from the bmw navigation website still no luck as if it doesn't even read the CD. I think its the laser thats not working.

Everything else works fine just BT, AUX and USB features gone!

Do you know any garages that can sort it out?

Believe it or not I left the car parked for an hour or two and started up and it started working like nothing happened.
