Black Kidney Grills

I know there's some people on here who've made their own satin black grills.

But I just ordered the new BMW performance black grills from the performance aerodynamics range (from the dealers parts dept). In stock for delivery Wednesday!

Guess how much? (Genuine OEM remember, 2 year guarantee and ready to fit)

£21.95 each with VAT. BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!

part numbers (for LCI E90/E91)

51712146911 (left)
51712146912 (right)

Lets hope they look as good as they do in the catalogue.

For E91 its http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...96&hg=51&fg=95

But if you search for a e92, there is no 'BMW performance aerodynamics' section under vehicle trim / accessories & retrofittings.

Maybe you can't get them for E92?

I think so, a full satin or matte (not sure yet) grill, inner slats and outer rim all as one.

Right, the wifes gone to Morrisons........

New grills fitted in 10 minutes. (use a 4mm allen key instead of torx driver, upper bumper screws are not very tight).

The grills are two-part mouldings, high gloss outer (which matches the high gloss shadowline window trims) and matt inner slats.

No paint to scratch / chip as they are black plastic.

Before and after pics below. I think they'll grow on me. Would prob look better on a dark car, but at least it's the last bit of chrome gone from the body work and it ties in with the lower black grills too.

Not bad for £42 genuine BMW!

The gloss black outers look very good - I have contemplated removing mine and spraying the rims gloss balck a few times but have never got round to it.

I have ordered some grilles with a CF surrounnd with matt black slats for the M3 as I like the shiny finish to the outers. Did not realise the OEM ones would look so good and be so cheap!

Correct.

According to realoem and the BMW performance catalogue, these grills are only available for 1 series and E90/E91 3 series.

Sorry no coops!
