spilt diesel

Managed to spill about a cup full of diesel into the boot of my e92 (don't ask !!). Obviously immediatly wiped it all up as best I could - including the storage spaces under the boot floor. Last couple of days have left boot open as much as poss, but it still smells.
Have tried both spray and solid air fresheners left overnight - any other ideas gratefully received !!

You'll need to remove any contaminated carpets and sound deadening too and thoroughly clean and dry them before refitting otherwise it will pong for months.
I once spilt 300 litres of diesel on a workshop floor (again don't ask!) and it soaked into the insulation inside stud partition walls. The smell did not disappear for almost a year and even then it was only because those partitions were removed and new ones were fitted!

Thanks for the advice. Seems my hope it would simply evaporate in a couple of days was a tad optimistic !!
