Anyone running just BMS dual cone?

Just ordered mine.

Any improved sounds? Won't be running my tune yet, have the purchase my downpipes before.

But as a mod for itself, did it improve anything, mainly what about the sound?

Yeah, sound. You'll mainly hear the the intake sucking in air and the recirculating valves releasing pressure.

Niiiice, really wanted to get more air noises without paying 400$ for a BOV.

Any negatives for the intake? I read about inter cooler heat soak if stuck in traffic, is that bad for the turbo if you just don't go into boost?

no its fine. if you want noise get intakes and take off your filter and cowls and you'll get a lot more turbo sounds. you won't notice a difference with just intake only.

It will make more sound but not as much as it would with a tune. Tune = more boost= more turbo sounds.

The turbo's would ingest hotter air, technically. Hotter air has less oxygen per molecule, therefore technically not as efficient as a cold air intake.

Ideally you want a closed box / true cold air intake.

Your last defense for intake air temperatures is ultimately your intercooler which should be upgraded, especially if you are tuned.

I don't want interior cabin filter cowls because of winter and water issues I read.

I want to keep the OEM cowl and all that.

Hmm makes it sound like this a downgrade hahaha.

Like is it that bad having dual cones on a stock car?

The DCI doesn't gain much power stock but doesn't cost any HP either. Some people throw out the "hot air" scare to try to convince others to get more expensive less flowing intakes but it's been debunked on the
dyno. No other N54 intake consistently makes more power than the simple and inexpressive DCI. Some "cold air" intakes, like the AFE, actually make less power than stock.

As long as I'm not losing HP I'm fine with that!

I suppose my order will ship out on Monday to?
