android headunit causing weird splitscreen issue

recently picked up a 2008 335xi sedan A/T. previous owner installed some noname android headunit that wont connect to my iphone so i just use the function to return it to the stock idrive (ccc model). this was fine for me until one day it started displaying the the stock idrive display as some weird splitscreen as shown in picture. i have no idea how to fix this or even identify the android unit currently installed.

the way i see it my options are:
1. take it to a car audio shop to see if they can fix it
2. buy a replacement stock idrive unit and install it myself
3. find some other android unit to install myself

has anyone else had this problem and know what to do? also what are some good options for either a replacement idrive system or an android system?

Pull out the screen and see if you can determine who sold the unit. They may be able to get you a firmware update. Google around.
