LOL, I hope you pointed and laughed. Seriously I really don't know why Aston Martin did this, it looks like the thing chavvy teenagers do sometimes when they stick other cars badges onto their sh*theaps.

Yes I know they needed a way to reduce their carbon footprint to meet EU legislation but I'd suggest cheapening the brand in this way wasn't the correct answer.

It is leafy Cheshire where lots of 'oik ball' players live. Mind you it isnt pink and probably doesnt have 24" chrome wheels with spinners so probably counts that out.

My money is on an Aston Martin dealership courtesy car.

Why Aston did it is simples... They needed to bring down the average emissions across their product range or face the wrath of the EU (read expensive fines..)
Mainstream manufacturers can do this with a raft of small engined cars. Aston didnt really have that luxury..... until they teamed up with Toyota for a nice economical city car :-)
They didnt really want to sell any (Hence why sales were originally restricted to existing Aston owners). They just needed one in the range.

But why haven't Ferrari, or Lamborghini, or Koeniggsegg (sp?) also done this then? Or maybe they have?
Mike.

I'm no expert but is it something to do with the fact Ferrari and Lamborghini are part of larger car companies whose smaller models bring the average down? Aston are standalone so can't do this (and Koenigsegg are probably too small so fit under volume thresholds?).

Some companies may also just pay the fines, I think that's what Ferrari did.

Ferrari are owned by Fiat and Lamborghini by VW/Audi, so they already have the reduced emissions. Porsche are big share holders in VW too, so they are also ok.

The more exotic metal, as said above, probably don't sell the numbers to need to do this, so are okay.

Nice spot though.

I hope that's not a courtesy car. Imagine sticking your DBS in for a service and being given that for the day. It would feel like they were taking the pish.
