not to sure of your states visual inspection. since i live in california.. which is and has been known for being a A-hole about emissions.

when i went to smog my vehicle for the first time. I went in with my BOV, intake, jb3 installed. This was pre muffler delete and catless DP's.

I was shot-down instantly when a guy asked me about my BOV. I tried convincing them that its legal, and its no different then stock just a brand name, bla bla bla.. But a higher up didnt feel like taking the risk. I even went as far as checking actives page for a carb cert.

they didnt even think about looking under the car, as far as i know. Since mufflers have absolutely no effect on emissions.. And after all they are just a smog shop, there not going to know that your vehicle didnt have secondary cats stock or otherwise.

just get rid of the obvious under hood mods, and i doubt theyll give u shit

as a side note, first smog shop i went to didnt have a clue how to smog our cars.. after dealing with the b.s. of failing initially on visual, i came back the next day stock, and was informed that there POS computers/inspection machines couldnt handle our advanced BMW ECU through the OBD II port, because its to fast.

good luck with your inpsection.. and once again this is totally drunk forum posting.... which is a normal function for me.. so i hope i made sense..

It all depends on how observant the guy doing the inspection is. I have had inspectors using mirrors to look for cats on my car (not the 335), and I have had guys just plug in the OBD computer and take its word for it and simply not do the visual. Its up to the guy doing it whether he clicks the pass visual or not button on the computer.

Get some High Flow Cats instead. The best of both. Almost identical performance to catless and you don't have to worry about passing visual inspection.

Skitlz,
Did the DMV require you to get a smog insp? Thought CA doesn't require smog inspection the first 6 yrs.
