Air Scoops vs. Rad

Just installed my cyba scoops.. let's not get into a discussion about power differences/throttle response/butt dynos.. and all that garbage...

My question is - Any opinions on any potential adverse affect on the rad.. since a noticeable portion of the airflow is blocked off the rad and instead forced up the scoops into the snorkel and into the intake.

if you look at the front of the car, you'll see the scoops only block a portion of the front kidney grill. You also have the entire section of the lower grill that is unobstructed. So there is still plenty of airflow to the radiator. I don't think anyone has reported problems with cooling when scoops are installed - even the turbo cars.

Oh.. took me a few reads but I see what you're saying.. could have just said "during heavy rain".. and hey I'm not one for punctuation but at least I use ".....'s" to make it easier to understand.

But what do you mean it bogs down? There's no reason it should unless its intaking water.. which is bbbaaaddd

unless your car can drive dodging rain drops...

think about it... air scoop that scoops in air flow will scoop up whatever is in the air...

so you are driving through rain which turns the air your car is sucking in, into an air filled with water... or contains massive moisture. the same air gets into your intake box and all over your intake before the filter and enough of them will build up thus giving less combustion. water + fire = no work.

plus for whatever reason may be... i dont think having a damp, or have been wet air filter isnt any good either for your engine to breath through. especially if you are running paper type filter.
