Help with 3D printing
Yes, I know it's a car forum.
First have a look here https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1502142 I need someone in Calgary, AB, who have 3D modeling experience and if you have a 3D printer; that's even better. I'm trying to do a dashboard mount for a 7 inch lcd screen. Here is how I think it would look like https://goo.gl/photos/X5VPFXMPCQLuczdc7 As you know; our dashboard is pretty curvy and in multiple directions all at once. The two copper wires was an idea I had about getting the profile of the dash at the two sides of where the mount would be. I was thinking that once the mount done, I can plasti dip it, vinyl wrap it, or even leather wrap it. But that's not the important part. It's getting a mount that would hug the curves is the hard part. I'm thinking magnets to hold it down the mount at the back. So I have been looking at parts, and I found this LCD screen https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2017...826973896.html This one comes with the touch panel as well. So What I need is a mount to be the holder and frame of the LCD screen. The logic board would be inside of the dash, behind the radio unit, or inside the mount itself. Depending on the final design. I thought about doing it from wood, but now I'm exploring the 3D print idea. I even thought it would be great to have the front part interchangeable. So you can have it for this lcd screen, or with a wireless charging board with magnets for phones etc. Basically turn it into a kit. Anyone interested. |
