Pending vvt-limp, Idrive engine fault but no check engine light
Hi,
I have been having a problem with my E90 320i from 2007 for a while now. I drive to work and home everyday. This is about a 15 minute drive. Next to that I drive in the weekends too. None of these rides are much longer than this though. After about 2 weeks of driving like this I get a message in my idrive display. (Engine fault, reduced power.) My check engine light itself however does not turn on. I also don't really feel my car having reduced power but this might be because I have only had this car for a couple of months and don't really know it yet. I checked my car using an obd reader showing me no stored codes. I do however find a p1061 in my pending codes (something about VVT-Limp home request rpm and air) When I erase codes it does clear it and the code doesn't show up again for about 2 weeks) I should probably also mention I got this same behavior twice while doing a multiple hour drive as if it pops up after a certain amount of kilometers or time) What could be causing this and is it normal for an error to popup in idrive when there is no check engine light and the code is stored in pending? |
