JB4 map0 with MHD custom flash
Hey guys,
My car currently has JB4 installed. I will have a bench flash done for MHD in a next couple of days. Now my question is that can I leave jb4 on map 0 and use it as a boost gauge only? I am quite happy with its convenience of reading boost, oil temp, etc on my phone. Also, in terms of power, what can I expect from moving from jb4 without BES to a custom MHD flash tune? Thanks!

Take off the JB4, it'll just make everything easier. To have a custom MHD flash you're going to need to purchase the logging monitor module to send logs to the tuner of your choice where you will have the same features as JB4. (IMO remove it if running flash only). But if you still insist on the piggyback, You're going to need to set menu 4 to 4/4 (Flash only mode) and unplug the boost solenoid lines and plug the stock one back in.

You can leave the JB4 on map4 with solenoid unplugged for gauge use only, giving in dash gauges, blue tooth to your phone, logging, etc, and skip having to buy the MHD logging module all together. Or better yet load the free JB4 BEF maps designed to be loaded via MHD:

Mike hit the nail on the head. If you already have it installed, keep using some of the great features like bluetooth logging, etc. Or go BEF.
Either or you should be happy! |

The problem is he'll need to use the MHD logging module if he goes with a custom flash only tune, which the JB4 needs to be disconnected in map 0 to use. Making it useless in a sense if he goes flash only. Plus it removes the piggyback headache. If you're getting a custom flash there's no reason to have a JB4.. jb4+bef is another story.
