0-60 in 4.58s! XEDE-equipped 335i 0-60 & 1/4 mi. Timed with New Beltronics Vector FX1
First, let me just preface this by saying a few things...
edit -- these pics/times were from last week; my better 0-60mph time was from today...pics/info posted toward the bottom of the page!!!! 1. This was one of the first times I've timed my car with my new Beltronics Vector FX1 (not my bro's old G-Tech Timer that ppl thought was very inaccurate). These times were not done on a track but on the highway with my brand new, calibrated Beltronics Vector FX1. This easy-to-use timer should be very accurate as a few ppl on E90Post.com have said before, and I would agree with this. 2. Pushed the Traction Control button 1 time to turn Traction Control on. 3. Launched from ~ 1,400 rpm in M1, and continued through Manual mode using my Paddle Shifters. 4. Weather was near perfect -- sunny, dry conditions with temp ~ 80 degrees F. 5. I now have my bigger, wider, stickier Michelin PS2 tires (~34psi front/~36.5psi rear) on my M6 Rep wheels, and my traction is A LOT better than before with the oem stock RFT's...very little wheel slip/tire spin as I launch. 6. On my way to Orlando for a business trip, I decided to pull over on the highway to do a couple of timed runs. One thing to note is that on the right-side emergency shoulder lane, there were "cuts" in the road that help to slow the car down; so, as I began my launch, I drove over these "cuts" in the road and felt a bit of hop until I got out into the highway's right lane. With all that said, I feel that these times aren't too bad for the quick test and indicative that I could probably get it down another 2-3 more 10th's faster. Once I get my PROcede from Shiv and installed, I will do a few more timed runs to see what happens...I'm thinking, with the PROcede and a few decent launches on a straight, dry road, I should be ~ 4.4-4.5 sec. 0-60mph and 12.7-12.8 sec./trap ~ 109-110mph 1/4 mi???? Tell me what you think.

Yeah, I'm aware that the stock 335i's are running ~ 4.8 sec. 0-60mph and ~ 13.4-13.6 1/4 mi. @ 105mph; so, I was a little disappointed but again, I only did a couple runs and from the right side of the highway (emergency lane), so I had to go over those speed bumps (cuts) and pull to the left onto the highway's right lane...it was a little awkward since I wasn't technically going completely straight. Also, I'm fairly confident I can get a better launch too. I guess I was just more impressed by the accuracy of the Beltronics Vector FX1, knowing that my XEDE-equipped 335i should be faster than a stock 335i, but only by a few 10ths of a second.

If your bump-cutout things are as deep as ours here, that had to kill your time. I mean, you are literally driving on 50% pavement when crossing them. It would be really awesome to run consistently, on the same road (ideally straight and not crossing rumble cutouts) first without the xcede active, then with it, then with your procede when you get that.

That was actually my 2nd run...and I only did 2 runs (I mucked up my 1st run). If I get a chance, I may try again before I get my PROcede; I'll definitely time some runs after I get and install the PROcede.

Thats probably a lot more accurate than the old g-tech. A little more aggressive launch would cut the 0-60/ET down with the set up you have now. Still a good time for running along side the highway!
Out of curiosity, what RPM did you shift at. |

XEDE-Equipped 335i 4.58 sec. 0-60mph -- timed with Beltronics Vector FX1!!!!!

1. 77 degrees F, sunny, dry day 2. This time, I didn't touch the Traction Control button; so I guess TC was in "automatic" mode. 3. Launched @ ~ 1,000 rpm in M1 and shifted via the Paddle Shifters. Note -- it's interesting that my 0-60mph time was much better (better launch and no "rumble cutouts" in the road ), but my 1/4 mi. time was within 5/100th sec. with a slower trap speed; still a hair over 13.1 sec. @ 106.4mph. I did notice a funny shift from 3rd to 4th gear @ ~ 80mph, I think...maybe I didn't keep in gear long enough or something???? I think there should be little doubt now that I should be able to get under 13 sec. 1/4 mi. time; probably ~ 12.7-12.8 sec. @ 109-110mph with an optimum launch and MM shifting.

Dude, get in that car do several runs...do one with DTC lighted and one without on the same day so we can see if the car is running to 60 faster in various modes. Then do one when you completely disable everything by holding the DTC button down for however long it takes and see what run you get.
P.S., how much is that FX1---too cool man. Tx for posting this. |

This Belltronics unit is the same as the Escort unit.
It uses accelerometers. I have a GTech PRO and a Gtimer(escort) which is what this Belltronics unit is. I also have a VBox GPS performance meter. The GTech is about .2 seconds off. The GTimer is about .7 seconds off. Both are off in the more positive way... meaning they say they are quicker than the VBox. And a 10KHZ GPS performance meter is where I'd place my accuracy. Just a little FYI |

The Beltronics FX1 was only $99.99 + shipping from beltronics.com. They have the FX2 which is the upgraded model (although the FX1 does all the same stuff just w/o downloading to your pc) that comes with the computer software for downloading all your runs and technical info; it's 2x the price @ $199.99. I didn't feel like I really need all of that, so the FX1 was good enough for me.

I know that someone here who has or had a C5 Corvette (which he took to the track) said he also has a Beltronics Vector FX1 or FX2 (same internal electronics) which he said is very accurate...within a few 10ths of his track times.

can u please do a run with DSC completely off (push button once, then push and hold) and TQ rev to like 1500-2000. i think that will lead to the best 0-60 and 1/4. atleast for an auto

I can try, but the last time I did that, my wheels/tires just spun big time in M1; I didn't like the launch I got with both the DTC and DSC off...kinda crazy!!! It seems like putting the DTC on with just 1 quick press of the DTC button might be best, although for this 4.58sec. 0-60mph run, I didn't touch the DTC button at all.
