Was paddle shift standard on Sport ??
All of the sport package models I've found online have the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Except One. Found one that has captured my interest, Sport Pack, Nav, Premium, Etc, but in th epics there are no paddles on the wheel.
Was this an option or standard with the sport pack? Thanks much guys...definitely learning a great amount from you all. |

I'm not sure if there were any year-by-year changes, but I believe that al, sport package cars should have the sport steering wheel. Thereafter, paddle shift was a $100 add in 2009 per edmunds...not sure about the other years. My car was purchased 1-y-o.

While looking last year, paddle shifters were definitely on my list. My research revealed that there was a difference in the paddle shifters between the sport pkg and m sport pkg.
The regular sport paddles are pull for up shift and push for down shift. M sport is pull only with down shift on the left and up shift on the right. During a test drive of a sport pkg model, I was always up shifting. Probably too many video games. So, that made m sport pkg a 'must have' for me. The sport paddles can be rewired to be left-down, right-up. I just searched a while longer until I found an m sport. After all of that, I still drive as 'manual' as possible but use the console shifter at least half the time. The lack of a manual really makes this the 'ultimate compromise machine.' |

Paddles were a big issue for me as we'll, when I was hunting for the perfect D.

They work really well for downshif (fast) and help for braking with good control of the compression. Also they are very good for drift. The upshift is to slow but help to shift at the propper rpm for perfect acceleration. I use the paddle about 80% of the time and i cant think of my D whitout them... |

I don't have paddles on my car. Coming from a string of manual transmissions, I find shifting with the shifter perfectly satisfying, but admittedly, DS mode does it better than I can. The ZF in this car is hands down the best auto I've ever had or encountered.

Maybe it's just me but I feel the car shifts much more smoothly with the shifter than the paddles. I use both 50/50 since the paddles are really convenient and both hands can always be on the steering wheel for maximum control.
I rely on DS mode only when I'm on the freeway without traffic. Other than that, I'm always on manual mode. Can't stand D mode with its painful throttle lag. |

Going home there's an uphill corner that sometimes needs to be taken at 55-60 that just cries out to be entered in 2nd or 3rd, but the flat valley before that means you are in 4th or 5th... |

I have sport pkg with the ludicrous paddles that do same thing for right and left paddle...has anyone here upgraded for the real paddle shifters (i.e.-right is up and left paddle is downshift)????

Search the DIY section for steps to rewire the paddles for distinct left-right functionality.
