I currently own a E90 330i and bought it July of 2005. Since then I never changed my brakes or rotors. I have 61k on my car and its a 6MT and I do 80% city and 20% highway. Was wondering how long have other peoples brakes have lasted. My computer says 7k for the front and another 12k for rear.

Nope I mean 61,000 miles. I have owned a few M cars and various other cars since I purchased this car. I have a summer car as well.

WOW must be nice. Anyways, I replaced my rear pads ONLY not rotors at around 70k miles. And again rear rotors and pads at 105k miles.

Front rotors and pads were changed last year at around 99k miles.

Dealer replaced my front pads and rotors under warranty at 26k. The rotors has warped already.

Mine is the same age or maybe a month older (I think mine is a June 2005 model going according to warranty/motorplan anniversary date) and it has just over 72k km or 45k miles on the clock! The rear disks were replaced due to the dealer screwing up on the handbrake adjustment last year and causing it to bind and over-heat, so had them replace the disks and shoes, but in terms of thickness of the disks they were still fine and had plenty of life left. According to the service info it shows my front brakes (which are original other than the pads) as still having 29k km left, the rears show 26k km which is odd, but probably the pads more than anything else since the disks barely show any wear at this point...

I don't abuse my brakes and also do a fair amount of town driving.

Brake maintenance on BMWs is very simple. Wait until the BRAKE indicator comes on and stays on and the CBS reads -- for the axle which has the worn brakes and replace the pads, rotors, and sensor as a set. Don't try to second guess the system.

Basically this. You want to see if your rotor are still spec during the yearly inspection, but usually they need replacement around your mileage. So when the computer tells you, it will be time to do all.

Thirty-one: the sensor measures only pad thickness. Disk is visual inspection.

Yep, I realise this, was just saying in general. The front disks are worn to a certain point but still a decent amount of "meat" left on them, plus no shuddering etc.
