N52 PowerBox Final Map Configuration

Hey guys..

Now that we are finally shipping the new tune, I have had a lot of questions about the maps it comes pre-loaded with. Well here is the official map guide

Map Guide for PBX

Map 0: --Disables PBX, all signals pass through
Map 1: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 2: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 3: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 4: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 5: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 6: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 7: -- Throttle remapping disabled, performance tuning on

what is that you mean when you say 30% throttle remapping and performance tuning?

basically for those who don't want that throttle response to be that sensitive, they can have it less sensitive, if that makes any sense.

Throttle remapping changes the feel/sensitivity of the throttle, so you can set it to what you like based on feel. The 100% throttle remap is te most aggressive, but some might find it too responsive and opt for another setting. With the Powerbox we give you several options so you can pick which one you like best.

the only thing that sucks is the fact that you wont know which mapping you're on unless you start from zero each time. I mean who can really tell the difference between 30% ad 60%? I would suggest in the V2 of this box to create an LED light which indicates which mapping you're on. but anyways im excited to get this, just placed my order for one today.

Just watched the JB3 video, why is the PBX loose cable/pin while the JB3 is plug and play?
would be much easier to self install if it was made like JB3... matching cables, counting pins is no fun.. even if it is just 14 ends.

Basically;

Insert keyfob and press start button to turn ignition on (lights on dash, but engine not running). Press and hold the gas pedal down to the floor for 4 or more seconds, and then release pedal. This puts the PBX in to listen mode. If you start the engine at this point you will be on map 0. For performance maps press the gas pedal to the floor and quickly release one time for each map you would like to select. For example for map 3 press and release the gas 3 times, and start the engine. Your map setting will be saved until changed. If you forget what map you are on, turn engine off and reset the map selection. When burning a chip map 3 is always selected by default.

Map 0: --Disables PBX, all signals pass through
Map 1: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 2: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 3: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning on
Map 4: --30% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 5: --60% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 6: --100% throttle remapping, performance tuning off
Map 7: -- Throttle remapping disabled, performance tuning on

Simply cost. BMS doesn't think the market will support an extra $200 for the replacement ECU connectors. If we get enough people willing to pony up an extra $200 (would be $479 total) I'm sure I can get BMS to offer it.

If anyone is in Toronto, I can help you install the PBX if Mike is busy or too far for you to reach. Let me know!

P.S. Mike, the PBX is awesome!

Mike
now that you put it that way.. connecting 14 ends isn't bad for saving $200.

I would recommend tune on and whatever throttle sensitivity you like.
