I don't think the exhausts don't do a lot aside from make more noise. Guys are only picking up 10rwhp with the full exhaust systems + procede. Taking out the res and 2nd cats but leaving the stock mufflers/piping probably didn't do much (5rwhp?).

The Nittos are awesome on the street, very well balanced with the soft sidewalls of the generals up front. I'll take the peg leg with Nittos over any other regular tire + LSD any day.
I thought you told me, and posted in a couple threads that the res delete and 2nd cat removal gave like 8-10 rwhp?
I can believe that.
Catback exhausts, which is not much more than what the res delete is, but adds 2.5 inch piping and louder mufflers, have given 10-18 rwhp.

The PROcede added isn't really doing anything more than the exhaust by itself as the PROcede is not custom tuned for the exhaust, they are the standard tune that stock exhaust owners have. So the extra 10-15 hp guys with exhaust and PROcede are seeing, is strictly from the exhaust.

Really, you think the Nittos and no LSD are better than good street tires and LSD?? Guess we'll find out in the fall.

Oh SoCal, I didn't know you had a manual?
The red interior looks awesome on the black car btw.
I wanted to listen to your exhaust from inside the car too, forgot.
Next time!
BTW which tires are you running on?

On the exhaust the real answer is I really don't know. When I got it I thought it felt like 20rwhp, but that was probably more noise than anything. I've been adjusting my opinion based on the full exhaust dynos. I think the res delete is worth around 1/2 of what a real exhaust does. The procede doesn't need to be tuned for exhaust, the more boost the more exhaust should help.

By sport package adding 20 pounds, I meant the other options that come with it (power lumbar seats, power folding mirrors, larger suspension pieces, etc)
And by 60 lbs in wheels/tires weight, I meant compared to the 56 pounds the sport package wheels/tires weigh.

Again, not taking anything away from you Terry, you did great today.
Just stating full disclosure facts that you had the lightest car (and least rotational mass) as well as probably one of the highest HP outputs with your mods (SoCal335i was probably making equal power) and the only one with DR's.
I was just hoping more 335i's with more mods would of showed up.
It was basically you and SoCal335i with really any mods whatsoever other than the "chips". I wanted to see more aftermarket exhausts as well as some manuals running for comparison.

We'll all hit Famoso in the fall. Still not a great track, but better than LACR.
I don't care about a 100 Octane map personally. I don't ever see myself running pure 100 Octane in there.
I like to run it in the same "everyday" mode I drive it in.
That's why, all my times are also set with my tire pressures at 35-37 psi on street tires.
I don't run DR's or even run low psi for additional traction.

I'm more curious to see what the effects of the LSD will do for times.
Hopefully we'll be able to compare LSD car's times to those with no LSD.
Now the wait for another 4-5 months before it starts to cool down again!

I understand where you're coming from on this, I want to see what kind of times i get just the way i would be set up on the street if someone pulled up next to me and wanted to race. I dont want to run DR's to get a better time on the track cause then i wont know what im running on the street with my regular tires on my 19's. I was wondering Terry if your car is always on those wheels and DR's?

But Shiv has (or is working on) a map for cars with an exhaust.
I think I remember him telling me he should get another 10 or so whp out of cars with an exhaust and "stage 1" tune rather than just the base "stage 0" tune.
I don't know, but you are probably right about the gains of the res delete being 1/2 what a cat back system is.
Still not bad for a few hundred dollars labor.
I forgot to hop in your car and listen to it too, shit!

Thanks!! Yeah mine is a 6 speed. My tires are vredestein 275/30/19's they dont grip very well though. I am gonna get something better for my next tires, maybe Michelin PS2's or Sportcups. My tires have a 280 treadwear.

Yep! Want buy some stock 159s and runflats? =) They are great on the street, but I don't know how they are going to be in the rain. Verdict is still out on that.

Nice runs all.

To help answer the exhaust question, I had a custom exhaust made with 2.5 inch pipes, no crossover and mangaflow mufflers. Originally, I had left the 2ndary cats in and later had them removed. Unfortunately, I did not get a pre/post dyno from factory exhasut to custom.

However, I did get a pre/post on just removing the secondary cats. I gained an average of 7 hp across the entire curve and about 7.5 at the peak on a dyno-dynamics dyno. These dyno's typically turn our lower numbers than dynojets, and we did not apply any correction to make dynojet style numbers.

Sound isn't great, just louder at WOT. I've gotten used to and like it, but might not work for others taste.

On the "stage 1" stuff, if your exhaust flows better the car can take a little more timing, maybe its close to the difference between 91 octane gas and 92.

Those are 555 regulars, not the 555R's. Those are OK tires, but not the best. The 555R's are drag tires with a treadwear rating of 100. Other good ones are Pilot Sport Cups & I believe BF Goodrich makes a set as well. Another good tire is Falken RT-615's, not quite a DR, but gives you a bot more tread life & is a hell of a track tire as well.
