I need to look at a RHD schematic, it will be interesting to see what if any differences there are. Worst case scenario, ship your turbos to us, and we will mod them and ship them back to you.

quick question: does 16 psi of boost equal the same amount of power regardless of the type or size of turbo? if not, how much difference is there? I'd imagine a cheaper turbo (in quality and design) would be less efficient and equate to less power but by how much approximately? just wondering.

well, even if they were equal power at a given psi, if someone wanted the flexibility to dial up the boost above 16 psi, then yes they'd upgrade. but if you're content w/ 16 psi, knowing that your tranny and motor can't handle anymore than that then why would you do it unless you did some serious internal upgrades as well.

you still didn't answer my question though: is 16psi = 16psi regardless of turbo type.

Quote Brian:
Fuel system and the HPFP, at this moment we're not looking to build cars to become stripped out drag cars, or competing with 1000+hp EVO's and Supras, our goal was to build a powerful bolt on solution for great reliable and fun street warriors. BMW's are not meant to be full on drag cars...It is my feeling that for our goals, the factory fuel system will suffice. We are NOT looking to be the first 1000HP 335i.

Thank you Brian, thats just want I want to hear. Bmw has succeed in building a turboengine that doesen`t feel like it is, so let keep it that way
Bolting on truck like IC and stuf that induce turbolack I feel is missing the point.

I think when I say this I speak for many of us, this car is a consideral investment and is used as a daily driver(familie car).
I have a 80 ish style tunned turbocar as whell an hech it`s fun , but not what I`m loooking for in my (almost)brand new Bmw

To answer the last two questions:

Shipping a car from say, NC costs approx. $800.00 (just got one hence why I know off the top of my head)

Turbos. all boost is not created equal. Here is an example: 16psi on a small turbo that has say a potential of 35lbs per min at 2.0pr, vs a larger turbo that has say 45lbs per min at 2.0pr, at this 16psi the overall volume of air will be quite different. It's like this.. Imagine a garden hose that is 1" in diameter, you turn on the hose 2 turns (2 turns being the baseline control), and you leave it turned on for 10 secs. and fill a bucket. Now take a hose let's say, 1 1/2 inches in diameter and do the exact same control method. Measure the water in the bucket, I assure you that even at the same pressure, the larger hose will deliver more water.
