Are speakers covered under CPO?

I have been away from my car for 2 months on vacation and i just got in it today and i can hear the paper move in the speaker on certain bass levels. Its on the driver door and I live in South Carolina where its humid as hell and in fact, it did not do it last night, but it started today and the windows in my house were filled with condensation, could not even see out this morn. So could the humidity cause the paper to do this or what? Is it covered under CPO? It only does it on certain levels and is really annoying!

That sucks man. I don't think speakers are covered under CPO. Not 100% sure...but i wouldn't think they are

Could have rotted from moisture. I had that happen once, but I also had a window leaking on expensive aftermarket speakers. Check Crutchfield or one of the other online sources for a replacement.

Well i have good news now, after i put the windows down while driving for about 20 minutes, the paper rattle stopped in the speaker. Must have been from the humidity and dried out the paper when i put the windows down

Do you agree that the humidity could do it? Yes it is 80-100% humidity right now

Yeah most definitely. My mother's family is from Louisiana and I've heard stories on how beat up a car can get from being in that type of humidity all the time. Although, BMW should've engineered the speakers to handle all sorts of weather conditions.

No I am almost positive they are not covered. However BMW offers another plan that over laps the cpo with the original warranty. Its about 2k if i remember correctly, maybe a bit more but you're fully covered with the factory 4yr/50k.

Yes they should be covered with the factory warranty. I've even seen posts of people getting new getting new interior parts that were fading.

Stereo / NAV isn't covered under CPO but if it happens again talk to the sales adviser that sold you the car. Mine specifically told me to talk to them first if I have warranty issues because 1. They will ensure I am driving a BMW loaner not a rental and 2. They may be able to help with issues like this and he specifically brought up a situation with a lady who's stereo died and they wanted about $1000 to replace it because it wasn't covered and he got it covered. A truly successful salesman is all about getting repeat business and referrals.
