Easy question. Will the lsd out of the older 188
Case fit into e9/8x cases? I'm asking here bc couldn't find an answer in the 1forum.

I'm looking to get enough parts to make a 4.44 lsd.

Parts are:
Auto x3 r/p is 4.44.
My stock manual 128i case
Lsd from e36

Looking for the cheapest solution.
I'm ok with getting dirty at the pick and pull.

E36 LSD from the junkyard would probably be worn out or already removed. Those cars are usually owned by enthusiasts so I don’t expect someone to just let a good LSD go to the junkyard like that. Maybe contact the guys from Racediff? From Serbia I think. They have good and affordable solutions.

Those things do what they are spoused to but for how long. Those discs are tiny compared to a real LSD.

It has crossed my mind though. I talked to them and they really want to know the exact spacing where there kit goes after it gets grown flat.

All seems to temporary for my use in a rally car.

Everything is temporary and those kits would most definitely out last old worn out e36 LSD

I have definitely seen this progressive diff, and am interested in putting it on my car for track. Just worried about the reliability and how long before it goes? It's obviously a hell lot cheaper than a mfactory lsd but I do feel the limitations of an open diff especially around very tight corners where it can be a struggle to rotate the large body sometimes.

I would not know how long this kits would last. I do not think anyone can answer that. Too many variables. Try different wheel setup and alignment setting to get the car to rotate easier.
