When Steve ran it, the shop was very reputable. He did installs as well...at great prices! Don't know about the new guy though. When I called the old number (714) area code..I would get someone everytime. I've called the new number 3-4 times and got no answers at all.

Since we're playing detective what about tracing the plates off Trendix's show/demo car (the white E90 with the CSL trunk). It made an appearance at SoCal crew's Apple Pie Meet (might've been the 2nd one). I am sure Ryan or the other photographers have pictures of that car with the plates visible. just an idea...

Let's seize the car, sell it and get all our money back plus interest

My webhost is bluehost also, afaik without a subpoena they will not release client info; just like most registrars. It's always worth trying, though.

the old info is from google's cache on 7-jan-07. so the change happened sometime after that.

We all got scammed….I’m surprise the admins are not really doing

They do get paid from the vendors…no? We could use some info to get to Carlos or whoever this person is….maybe even report this to the police. I mean is not 2-5 members that got scammed, but there are around 30 members. I remember no one could contact Carlos for a week and when admin contacted him, he replied back with that one comment about him being in an accident...blah blah blah
I'm sure someone could do something here.

Ska, I'm sure the admins feel just as horrible about this as each and everyone of us who got duped. I am also sure they're working behind the scenes to find out more. They haven't made an official announcement yet, probably pending more solid facts (versus speculations). I'm anxious to hear the official news.

I find it odd that Steve hasn't chimed in and vouched for this Carlos guy. I mean, he obviously knows the guy if he transferred his business to him.

This stuff happens, Happened over at Hayabusa.org not too long ago. 60 or so members left with nothing but a hole in their wallets. Not much anyone can do, we submit his provided information to the authorities, we provide an IP address and that's about all we can do.

Fortunately the Board is big enough that there were several member near by able to go personally handle a resolution. But otherwise, not much can be done. Just plain old SUX

Buyer Beware folks.... Hope you used a Credit card and can get that money back...

Folks from various GBs were affected i.e. from splitters to exhaust to spoilers to euro xenons, basically any trendix sponsored buy within the last 3-4 months.

Basically after numerous delays and other BS posts, the vendor went AWOL and is accounted for along with all the monies ponied up for the items. Long story short.

All the specific details are in the numerous active threads.
