**UPDATED 4/7/14**DIY Walnut Blasting in Mooresville

Talked to a few on here about getting together a walnut blasting group and trying to find a shop to do it or purchasing everything for a DIY project and sharing the costs.

Figured it made sense to pick a weekend and see who's interested and wants to commit and participate. Looking to do it before I move out of the current house since I won't have space to do 2 cars at a time in the new place.

All the parts needed including materials and compressor will run $1300.00 roughly with shipping and tax. If we got 5 people that's right at $250 per for walnut blasting. The more people the less the split. If we got enough people, more than could be done in the 2 days then equipment could go to the next location for more cars.

If we can get 5 people by the 13th I will order everything and have it here before the planned weekend. Only other option is to do it at a shop and the quotes I've seen are $500 - $600 in Charlotte area. There's a complete DIY guide with equipment list and I've talked to the person that created it, also from NC and gotten his insight on what to pay attention to.

Saw you had started the post on getting this done in the Triad, anyone else up there want to come down for this?

So, are you looking for the $250 upfront via PayPal?

No just want to make sure all agree to $250 per based on 5 people wanting to get in and also that if we purchase the equipment and once I send proof of purchase and that everything is shipped then we can do the payment before the day. Don't want to purchase everything, have 5 people in and wait until the day and only one person shows with $250. Open to any other suggestion.

Don't take offense to this but if we are paying for a 3 way split of $1300, I might as well have the pros do it for $50-$65 more. I am very interested if we have the 5 way split but anything too much less than that, I can just do it myself using carbon cleaner here. May take longer but I will save $435.

You are welcome to borrow my vacuum adapter to save a few bucks. I can bring it to car meet sat. If it's still on. I would join the blast but just did mine last year. Could I come to hang anyway? I would also be interested in getting this done again in the future you could count me in as a future customer.
