Something weird happened to me when I got to the office this AM.

In pressing the open unlock button of all doors on the dash, locks did not move. I had to go out the passenger door, as this was unlocked. I used the key to lock doors and go.

End of day, I noticed kms changed to miles, flasher not coded etc. WTF happened, any ideas folks?

Very weird. Why miles, I wonder? And you're saying afterwards all was well? You should probably scan the car and see if something weird has been logged by the DME.

Yes, as if something got reset to factory settings. I set it back to kms and Celsius. I haven't yet coded the blinkers back to the triple flash!

Wait ... your car was coded? Did you turn off DRLs? That explains the miles then.

No car was never "coded", just meant I have to reset the instrumentation settings. When you press start button with no foot on pedals, you can use the stalk buttons to change some display settings.

I'll go test the battery, maybe it's time to replace with a lightweight braille battery

oh I see. then I've no idea why it reset to miles, as the defaults for Canadian region cars should be kms. we should scan it.

btw make sure you read all the scary threads on battery replacement before you do it

Any truth to those? There must be folks using the braille battery or non oem ones?

low battery life will cause the symptoms you mentioned...

as for braille battery, make sure you go for a braille endurance. the lightweight batteries are not suitable for cars that sit around for a long time without being driven. you'll need it on a trickle charger all the time. its very inconvenient. also you dont ever want to be stuck with low battery power when youre a couple hours away from home in calabogie, tremblant or mosport... wont be fun.

I think Ken is referring to the scary threads about cars setting on fire when using non-OEM batteries - and Ken, I dunno, but people keep bringing it up, so I figured I should mention it

I picked up my car today and gave it a big hug. It actually turned out nicer than I expected. Chapeau to Mr Seb. Damn he does fine work.

Pulled the resonator and put in a straight through race exhaust. It even makes less noise than before.

Very unassuming and stealthy. I like.

Does anyone happen to have an accessport or be able to do a flash, or do you guys know maybe a place where that can be done. My car is pretty stock so im not looking for anything serious, maybe just increase the boost and fuel/air ratio.

You gotta buy your own accesport, it marries itself to 1 car at a time so nobody can flash your car without taking it off theirs...and i doubt anyones willing to do that

Or only temporary. I did it for a friend who just got a 135 to show him what the thing could truly do. He had it for a whole week, then he had to buy new rear tires. So find someone nice enough to do that if you want to try it out

He does. I get to peek from time to time. I just have to work out a teleporter to save on the travel. I dont even want to think how long your trip would be.

Yes, unless you live in a commune with a bunch of hippies.

Warranty's ending soon guys..only a few more months. Thinking about keeping the car for another year or so, where do you guys go for service besides the dealer?
I need an indy shop that has the proper equipment for lets say changing and coding injectors etc.
