If you've attempted to get one of these, you know how hard they are to find. BMW NA does not sell them, and international BMW parts places won't ship them to North America.

The mounting kit works perfectly on the 1M. Fits all E82, E92, and perhaps other seats.

$350 includes shipping.

Does it always stick out that far or is that with the seat back all the way? I would assume thats the normal mounting view since it would most likely be attached to the actual seat and not the floor/rails

It's mounted to the seat frame, so the orientation to the seat remains constant even as you move the seat forward and back. There's no interference with the bottle no matter what you do with the seat. You can even pull out the leg extension all the way. It's really nice when you have a piece that's designed to work with the car, rather than a hacked-together solution. IMO.

I got one of the last brackets I could find in the US and just drilled extra holes to mount a regular sized fire extinguisher; that works fine. (I'm using a polished aluminum Halon bottle)
