Alpina B3 Flash Error

I have trans number 7591971

Using WinKFP to do the Alpina Flash.

Selected 7615835 as the number I wanted it to switch too from my daten files. I have the latest one v65 from June 18'.

So, enter in my vin number, hit done

Hit program & I get error 201

7566854 bsu not possible.

I have the GS19.11 TCU module according to INPA.

I don't get it....???

Using WinKFP 5.3.1 I got on Bimmer geeks & using the cable I got from Rheingold.

Please Advise....

Post 03/07 production date? You should be using GKE215 as your ECU.

Yep. Did that.

I do have a 01/07 production date, but INPA says I have the updated TCM that has 1gb of memory.

So, I don't know....

I guess I'll have to look into xHP

What GKS should I use if I am just prior to 03/07?

If you're sure you have the right TCM, you could try changing the prod date in your VO to a later date. Maybe your old production date is causing the error.

I'm just throwing that out there. I dont know if that's the problem but XHP is a better overall solution anyways, just not free.

I Hear ya. It's just a little frustrating. I have the right numbers for the transmission, & the bigger TCM & no dice.

You can use the xHP app (without buying any licenses) to verify which hardware you have

There are some exceptions to the 03/07 cutoff, and OP may have one of those.

I'm pretty sure I do, but I think I have to change the date in my VO to the TCM.

I'm a little hesitant to do that...

Has anyone done this ?

The transmission module does not store the VO, so I highly doubt changing the production date in the VO will solve your issue.

The only way for a pre 03/2007 to have the alpina flash is to change out the module from a post 03/2007 tranny. Or, change out the tranny all together.

Using WinKFP, you can read the UIF from the transmission module and double check the software numbers you currently have. But, I'm afraid it will lead you back to a tranny that's not compatible with the alpina flash.

I have a post-03/07 TCU that I'm not using (sold my '07 before installing it). I'd let it go for cheap, so let me know if you're interested.
