cluster ignition imitation
hey, i bought bmw cluster to play a bit, change some stuff, maybe wire some led's, i powered it with 12V battery, led screen turns on, but i want to run a test where all needles moves, and all lamps lights up, but its only possible to run this test when ignition is turned on, the problem is that i dont have a car and want to run this test on bench, maybe its possible to somehow imitate ignition on speedometer? maybe there are pins on back of speedo that cuold do it?

You'll need a lot more than a 12V battery to bench test the cluster. You need to mimic a CAN BUS system, you'll def find a lot more useful info for projects like this on Bimmerforums. You can also google "E90 Can Bus Project" to see what ppl are tinkering with already.
Good luck ! |

Look at this thread. You need JBBF2 and thats enough to connect to Inpa and run self-test. I guess if you need full functionality you need cas also. |
