I'm sharing my thought of retrofitting the F30 cupholders on E90 - E93. Well this is an idea and not a project (yet).
As you can see, by removing the centre console, there is enough gap (which is used for the ash tray) (picture 1). So, I've come up with the idea of removing completely the ash tray and adding the F series cup holders' base (picture 2). A small cut is needed, too. What do you think? * I do not own the pictures *

Would love to see if this works out. The cup holders on E92 are not ideal.

3D printer guys can help. Some are really good at that stuff. Liquid 3D printers can get smooth surfaces. Resolutions are not that good but not needed for a car part
