VRSF DP Fix Code

Hey guys,

I finished installing the VRSF DP fix on my 2011 n55 earlier today using the following DIY:

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...&postcount=303

The installation was a breeze, but the dp fix does not seem to be operating correctly. The blue LED on the device will blink to show that it is operational, but between every few blinks, it will stay solid for a few seconds and then resume blinking. Is this normal?

Also, the DME threw a code at the start of a drive cyle I performed earling this evening and later abandoned. The code was 2D1F: Oxygen sensor after catalytic converter, electrical: Short circuit to B+

FYI, I'm running MHD and have flashed to map 0.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I've heard that if you drive for a day or two the code may disappear. Resetting the code will reset monitors with it. I'm actually in the process of making a plug and play connection for my VRSF fix but haven't tested yet.

I just did the same a week ago and haven't had any issues. Granted, I'm running JB4 and MHD. Make sure you remove the check from "OEM/Catted Downpipes". If that's fine then I'd check your wiring.

I did have the "OEM/CATTED DPS" option unchecked in MHD when flsshing map 0.

I double checked the connections today and everything seems to be wired correctly. For some readon my O2 har ess shows a purple wire (4th wire towards the bottom), not that the color of insulation should matter.

The video below shows the current blinking sequence of the dp fix and the code it is throwing:

I got the same fault you got when I installed mine, after doing more research, I found that the +12 and ground wire on the O2 sensor are monitor by the DME. It's looking for a short on the sensor, so if you hooked the sim like the post above, you're basically shorting it out, I'm not sure how others got it to work that way.

Here's what I did, I extended the wires on O2 sim about 2 ft so I can keep it in the DME box, safe from heat and moisture. Tap to a switched +12 power(red/purple) in DME box (turns on when DME wakes up and off when sleep). Ground is also in there (black). Please double check with a meter to confirm. I leave mine O2 sim installed all the time, has not been a problem for me.

Then run the yellow and white wires through the wire loom, there is already a hole at the bottom where you can fish the wires through to the O2 sensor. I used your picture,

Glad you found a workaround!

Which wire goes to which? Yellow to +12v source (red/purple) and White to ground (black) or vice versa?

This plug and play rig up is awesome. Any chance you have part numbers for the plugs?

no don't do that, you will fried you sim
red on o2 sim goes to red/purple, black on o2 sim goes to black in DME box, yellow and white on o2 sim gose to o2 sensor, like you have it. the only difference now is you are not using the +12 (purple) and ground (grey) on the o2 sensor

Got it. Thank you sir! I shall give it a shot on the weekend. I'll be fabricating a plug and play harness. I've researched mixed opinions on leaving the catsim installed permanently. Some have reported altered fuel trims, despite the manufacturers stating that the device can remain in place on the N55 platform.

Installed mine today and have a similar flashing pattern. I also flashed stage 0 and so far no codes. I'll have to try a drive cycle later tonight.

Re-installed mine this morning using the tips from HOT335MSPORT and ended up with the same code of 2D1F and an erratic blinking pattern. Extremely annoying.

At this point i'm more inclined to say I have a faulty unit.

Same problem here. I've cleared codes and still have the same blinking and codes reappearing. I'm able to get o2 monitors to ready but haven't seen cat ready yet. Looks like I may end up swapping the DP when emissions roll around.

So you only have the catalyst monitor NOT READY? Can you not pass with one NOT READY monitor?

I ordered another catsim through A R E A 74. I think the unit I got through VRSF is faulty honestly.

I don't believe I'd pass in CA with the SES, I'm throwing three codes 2CED, 2D15, and 387F. I'm going to run Stage 0 for another day or so to see if cat switches from "INCOMPLETE" Keep us posted because I believe my VRSF unit may be faulty as well. If it's a matter of switching to 74 I'd much rather do that!

So after a couple drive cycles it seems that the codes were preventing the cat monitor from switching from incomplete. I decided to flash back to stage 2 and after another cycle the SES was back. Today I finally removed the DP fix and codes haven't popped up since. I think the fix is causing the code but was also getting me o2 readiness.

UPDATE: Received catsim ordered through A R E A 74. Wired using the following DIY: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...&postcount=303 and HOT335MSPORT's recommendations stated above. You da man!

Readiness achieved across all monitors within 100 miles, with the exception of EVAP. EVAP became ready within 200 miles of driving. Normal driving consisting of both city and highway. Did not perform any drive cycles as recommended. If I had done so, it probably would not have taken as long for all the monitors to set.

Side Note: Been keeping Tiago with VRSF in the loop with all the troubleshooting. He was nice enough to refund the full amount for the DP fix, given the fact that it was well over 30 days since purchase. VRSF's customer service is outstanding!
