E90 Alarm Optional~~
I got my 325i one month ago, unfortunately I havent got used to drive a bimmer without an alarm system. It is funny that the saleman told me most of E90 owners do not install alarm systems, on one hand, it is pricy (he quoted the price: 406 CAD$ plus tax and installation fee, total come to 900 something), on the other hand, it is not necessary to install alarm systems because the new model is pretty secure and even someone broke into the alarm systems won't help you catch them rite away.
what do you think? |

True. An alarm may deter people from stealing your wallet that you left on the center console. Other than that, unless someone has some magical master key, your car can't be started.
Broken into but not started. I guess it could be dragged onto a flatbed

I wanted the audible chirp when locking and unlocking the car, and the alarm is required for this function.

I wouldnt pay $800 like the dealer wanted when I ordered the car. But thanks to one of our members we heard about a special one of the dealers was offering on the purchase/install of an OEM alarm. I think it came out to about $400 CDN. That was as much as I woulda piad to get it.

No Alarm but LoJack
I opted for the LoJack System with Early Warning Notification in stead of an alarm.
Meaning, If my vehicle is moved and the key fob is not in the car then LoJack: 1) calls my cell phone 2) calls my 24 hour dispatch 4) e-mails me I felt for the little more money Alarm($600.00) LoJack ($900.00), I'd rather know and get the police looking for it. Dean
