CDV Install in Westchester

Anyone know a place in Westchester County (or Putnam) that would do the modified CDV install?

No one in Westchester has had the CDV mod done? Or is it that people are doing it on their own?

Most people do it on their own since it's a pretty straight forward install, especially if you read through all the DIY on the forum. I had bought a modified CDV but after driving my car for awhile, I've found that there is no need to switch out the OEM CDV.

Interesting. I've noticed that I've never seen any magazines complain about this issue, yet alot of people here say it is a huge improvement. The idea of the delay sounds suspect, so I may want to change it but perhaps I'll drive around with it a few days first and see.

I know during my test drive, I tried shifting quickly into 2nd gear and the engine over-rev'd because I was on the gas too soon (thinking the clutch was disengaged).

Can someone please post a number to where I can get this done in the Westchester area please. I would greatly appreciate it. I am picking up my 335 in mid September and I have already purchased the modified CDV. I just want to drive my car the day I pick it up from the lot to a mechanic and get this changed.

What mechanic have you used for your other cars? Just take it to him. It's a no brainer.
And why do you want to swap it out before you have even driven with the OEM CDV? Because some people on the forum say you should?

I test drove it and just like mets335 mentioned I feel the clutch disengagment is too slow. I would definitely have a better driving experience with the modified CDV. Driving a standard transmission for numerous years from previous cars it is really easily to tell the difference. My other car was an Evo and I only used Evo specialty shops. Since I have made the switch I want to take it to someone experienced with BMW's.
