The Gt-R has stuffed the establishment. If you go on 6 speed forum in the Porsche 997 Turbo section there is a long thread with upset owner's about the GT-R . The fact is that its a good £10000/£15000 cheaper than a specced up 997S let alone the Turbo!
The M3/C63 have no chance in performance terms and if you were lucky enough to get an early deposit on a GT-R then depreciation will only be very very mild for the first couple of years. A £56000 M3 will lose around £18000 in it's first year and thats even before the GT-R touches our shores.

It's game over

I can vouch for Marshall Nissan in Cambridge I know their dealer principal Dave Arrowsmith fairly well through the Nissan 350Z Forum .

I traded my 350Z to them, before my daughter was born......

There list is about 70 + already I think that's where a lot of the GT-R Info is coming from as someone from Marshall Nissan is quite active on the GT-R forum.

btw: Steve A I tried to send you a pm but your email box is full

Yep the User 'Davros' is Dave Arrowsmith, Marshall Nissan principle, he is also one of the committee members and Mods on the 350Z UK Forum.....

THX @U@K .

I was going to change my deposit with Middlehurst and go with the Worcester dealer but Middlehurst convinced me to stay and assured me that i would get a car in early 09.

Just need to find another £2500 now

Looking at the specs the only difference from having a base GT-R and the premium is auto lights and the Bose Stereo. I've had a bose system in a 997 and to be frank it was poor and i think i can live without the auto lights.

Datsun?

Very nearly at the point of putting a deposit down on the GT-R.

I was set on a M3, an easy decision BUT, specified as I'd like and I'm up at c 56k, thats 16k more than my 335i msport - and I'm not convinced of the value.

Then along comes a car that turns the rule book upside down.

0 to 60 in around 3.5s
0 to 100 in around 8.5s
Nurburgring in around 7.36mins

That betters the GT3 and turbo
Faster 0-100-0 than a corvette zo6

retail price 54k for the premium model
only 500 per year coming to the UK

So same money as M3, a full second quicker to 60, over 2 second quicker to the ton and very tasty looking IMO.

seriously tempted
