After three trips to this place I will be taking my future vinyl needs elsewhere.

Initially got my wrap done and had it shrink somewhere which is normal, fine got it repaired. The next day the piece adjacent had a tear so went back and got that rewrapped - 3 trips overall. Unfortunately that piece has been bubbling ever since and I had been sticking it back down every so often until this morning the wrap tore and now there is a very noticeable strip of chrome showing through. This is in addition to another small edge that is incomplete but small enough to where I could live with.

In their defense these guys got recommendations from both Nino at Umbra and WSTO, and never hesitated to fix anything the three times I went there. Glad so many people have had positive experiences but I can't justify anymore 3hr round trips from where I live and work, not to mention wasted gas. Maybe I ask too much but for me if something can't be made right in 3 trips then it's time to try another place.

It is a decal, keep that in mind... I do know of other vinyl wrap shops, one closer to you too. BUT neither of them have done this on our cars, so im pretty certain they will have a learning curve before they get to the level of Xtreme. Plus expect it to cost more too.

knock on wood, mine has held up great for several months now

Yes I know. I just didn't expect problems after 3 trips to a shop who's response to my order request was "yea we do those all the time" - perhaps this is a failing on my part. I know of a few graphics shops as well yet went to Villa Park based on the recommendations. While shops closer to me may not have specific 3er experience, I don't see our trim as any easier or more difficult than wrapping any other non-flat surface with vinyl.

I have seen other members trim wrapped with vinyl and there's are perfect - some have been done at Xtreme some not. I know they are capable of doing a great job, I am just regretfully reporting that my experience has not been representative of this.

Not to discount their abilities, but perhaps a vinyl wrap of the chrome trim is not the best solution. Perhaps it might just mean you gotta upgrade to true shadowline (although the cost is somewhat prohibitve for the coupe).

I'm sure for an absolutely perfect job it is - it is more expensive and some report that it is difficult to remove the stock trim without damaging it. Minor imperfections I can deal with like small bubbles and the like - however an inch long bubble at the bottom of my rear door curve that would not stick after repeated attempts is not par for the course either.

Btm I am having the same problem now both sides on the curve for the rear doors are torn and you can see chrome. I am going to go to xtreme hopefully tomorrow to try to get it fixed and hopefully it wont happen again.

I mean the drive is long but it was my decision to make it based upon the recommendations I received. Whether or not the incident is isolated, in my industry, I wouldn't expect to retain a customer after their unsatisfied after three attempts at service.

Like I said, maybe I was expecting too much to begin with, but then again I have seen vinyl trim wraps that look perfect on other 3 series. If you have satisfactory experiences then by all means continue to show your support for the business you received them from. I did not come in here to trash this business as I know many people have gotten excellent results, I am just sharing my own experience in the interest of information.

They don't reply to this thread very often, I'd give Steve a call for a quote.

Have you guys tried to paint the trim instead of vinyl the trim? Will there be any difference?

I just had my window trim wrapped in gloss black this afternoon and I must say it has completely changed the look of my car. The gloss black trim matches my new BMW black chrome kidney grills and black BBS CH-R's.

Josh did a great job, the trim looks fantastic and he got it done in about an hour.

I will post some pics once my tint gets finished at Umbra next monday
