Interesting. MAYBE just better to take the proven path then be the guinea pig.

Some reported them to be more knock prone. Better to stay OEM .

with a close examination of principle behind heat ranges for spark plugs you will find out why your stock plug is a good choice..

where the spark plug distributes the heat is critical --- does it translate more of it to the combustion chamber or to the cylinder head?

most cars battle the air/fuel mixture coming into the cylinder -- temps have been greatly reduced with the introduction a precise jet of fuel very close to the spark plug.

cold misfires can and do happen, just as if the spark plug was fouled with a light film of oil that burns off and then the car runs great -- but acts like crap in the morning. fuel fouling can happen if the correct cylinder temp isnt reached (cold stumble, iskendarian cam lope, hunting for idle) for a short period of time.

So OEM plugs don't come in different heat ranges?
as the center and ground electrode wear the distance is increased -- if the spark has a single path, the spark opportunity decreases due to wear. now if there are several ground electrodes the chances of spark generation is 1 in 3, rather than simply one. an average spark plug will wear (gap clearance) quicker and thus be more unreliable.

most OEM spark plugs are just that single application based on performance specs.

if you go colder or hotter -- then its not OEM

Yea Shiv at Vishnu said only to run the OEM plugs. My 07' is at 45k and I am changing the plugs next weekend with Robert from Vishnu. Shiv's 335 has been beaten on so hard over the years and it stands as a true testament to how strong the N54 is. If Shiv's 335 is pushing all that power for that long on stock plugs, I'd say its safe to stick with OEM. Like chudak18 said, If it aint broke don't fix it!
