Nice!

Thanks I added this today and it worked perfectly in my 7/11 E90.

You were able to make the angel eyes on the Depo lights function as DRLs?

Right! But it does only work with a newer footwell module (frm2) ! (you have way more DRL options in a newer frm)

Other than the installation, what coding needed to be done? Have a DIY?

My car does have the FRM2 module and I'm probably going to be picking up the Depo lights in the near future. What coding change(s) did you make to enable the AEs on the Depo lights as the DRLs?

I apologize for beating the dead horse ( ), but I'm hoping someone has this bookmarked or can quickly recall the info from memory. I have a 2011 e90 335i (N55 engine, not sure if that matters) and I'm wanting to do some coding to it (audible alarm, chirp on lock, etc). So far I have found the cable that I need from this thread, but the only software talk I've been seeing is for max 2010 (I know it is highly possible I'm overlooking mention of the 2011). Will this software work for the 2011, also (or does someone have a direct link to the software/items I'd need)? Will the same coding techniques used in the 2010 cars work the same on 2011, or were there changes made in this regard when they changed the engine?

Again, I know this has probably been answered but all those posts are making my eyes cross up a bit. I don't mind doing the research/work myself, just could use some help narrowing down where I need to start my research for my specific car (assuming it matters) in this massive thread.

Thanks.

Take a look at the Google Docs spreadsheet at the bottom of the first post that has E9x coding info. As long as you get the right cable (search BMW INPA EDIABAS on eBay and get the one for $119 sold by automotive tool) AND download the latest daten your 2011 will be able to be coded just fine. My 2011.75 M3 codes like a champ.

Cheers! I found the google doc you were referring to. I'm assuming the daten is the software I need to install on my laptop? Is there a trusted link/site to get this software from?

The software you need is also linked in that first post, but the daten are basically BMW's updated files so the software can talk to newer cars, which you basically merge into the appropriate program directories. You might have to search a bit for the daten, and you'll probably need V41 or even V42 depending on how new your 2011 is and whether it's had any software updates installed by the dealer.

Thanks for all this great info guys! I successfully coded my AE's as DRLs, US Corner delete, digital speedo, and windows up with FOB. Due to all the info on here, it was amazingly easy and painless!

Just ordered my cable last night and I'm awaiting shipment from Hong Kong. Going to get my laptop all set up and ready to go so that when the cable gets here I can give it a test and send it back if it doesn't work for some odd reason. Ugh, 10 business days and counting.

Hey guys,

First time poster and 3 day old BMW owner. My first bimmer and already I forgot about my TL Type S.

I got a 328xi 2011 and I am looking for the cable I cant seem to find it because most ebay auctions mention till 2008.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BMW-INPA-Edia...item230ecadfa8

I am wondering if you could point me towards the right direction on which cable should I get.

Ultimetly, what I wish to do mainly is the following. When I lock my car I would want my sideview mirrors to close in same time. Is it possible?

Thanks alot guys,

K.

Hi,

I am new to BMW just got one last week a 2009 coupe 335ix (E92). I been googling around to program my kep FOB and disable the gong, etc and stumpelled across this form/post. I am still reading reached page 5, 150 to go

I ordered my cable last night and downloaded the NCR Expert.rar. I extracted to the C: NCSEXPER. I briefly looked at it by clicking on the icon "NCS Dummy" and the Chassis choices ends at E89.

So what do I chose for my car or is there something I need to modify or download to be able to chose E92.

Also when i extratced the .rar file there was only one folder NCSEXPER, I thought there should be 2 more INPA and dont recall what the other is,

Any info on this is greatly appreciated. I will of course keep reading

This is the right one -- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-I...item2567eb0889

Yes, if you have folding mirrors you can code that.

Make sure to read the DIY and you'll learn that you're supposed to choose E89 to code E9x cars -- and a lot of other types, actually. Yes, you should have NCSEXPER, EDIABAS, and INPA folders in the software package. If you don't have those, something is wrong.

Why does everyone say that cable is good till 2008 only? I have a 2011.

I am thinking about getting this one.

No idea why people say that or who's saying it, but the cable I posted is the cable I've used successfully on 08s up to my own 2011.75. If you get your own cable your mileage may obviously vary, but if you have weird coding issues that would have to be a suspect.
