O2 sensor killed

Long story short, I had a hell of a time getting my rear O2 sensor off the OEM short downpipe when I was installing my cattless dp's. I tried every gentile method but eventually sheared the points clean off the head. I have no idea why it was on there so tight. After 3 hours of fighting with it I resorted to vice-grips and a hammer!

I now have a code "lambda sensor, signal", which I assume means I murdered the sensor. Does this have to be replaced? Or since I'm cattless anyway can I just accept the CEL?

You normally use a blow torch to heat up the area around seized exhaust components. It helps quite a bit.

If it's rear you can just accept the ses light and live with it. Same thing happened to me and my procede just clears the code 20secs after start up. However I just ordered a new o2 sensor anyways and will be putting it in tomorrow.

Catless DP's can induce lambda codes. The solution to this depends in which tune you are using.

Next time soak the area where O2 sensor meets the pipe with PB Blaster. That stuff does wonders, especially for removing stubborn O2 sensors.

i think i damaaged one of my sensors during installing my catless dps as well

i get P0050 Code

HO2S Heater control Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1

i have no idea if its a damaged sensor or something else

o2 sensors are sensitive equipment especially to excessive vibrations and abuse i.e. Hammer.

Its likely toast

I'd replace it personally even as a secondary.

Tried that first.... Didn't think of the blow torch idea tho.

Are these secondary O2 sensors only there to measure a differential across the cat? So having one completely toast isn't doing any harm since I am cattless anyway?

You know they make a specific socket to take the O2 sensors off. I believe the socket costs between 20-30 dollars.

After about 30 miles along it popped up with all the other cattless codes. The delay makes me wonder if it is just one of these codes that can be fixed with a sim (running Cobb now). If I straight up annihilated the sensor wouldn't it pop up right away?

I mean in theory yes it should. I drove around with my cantool unplugged and I never got a code which seems odd.

I believe so. I would still replace it if there is any question since whatever O2 modifier you use modifies that signal and the broken sensor output may be irrational.

Normally catless downpipes will throw a Cat efficiency low code after OBDII readiness is set, as in upstream and downstream O2 sensor signals are too close.

Lambada code is the opposite, as in output signal difference too great (irrational).

For most cars that is true, but our cars actually use them for gas efficiency. Look around and you will see that Shiv has posted on this before. This one of the reasons he recommended undoing the o2 sim wiring feature of the Procede.

Alright, my codes finally came back after uninstalling the Cobb and magically the "rear lambda sensor, signal" code is gone... not sure if that means the sensor is working but here's what I've got:

29F4 - Catalytic Conversion
29F5 - Catalyst Conversion 2

2AAF - Fuel Pump, plausibility
2ACB - DME Main Relay Control

The two cat codes are what I expected to see with downpipes... If the signal code doesn't come back then I suppose my O2 sensors are all working fine.
