how low should I drop my e93?
Hi peeps
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543554 posted on the american part but hardly anyone replied with any useful comments (except John01 / O hella ) Now that my coilovers are currently getting some sweet customs loving at alexandria AU, I was wondering how low I should go for melbourne roads (but with an emphasis on drivability) John was thinking the smallest drop possible (1.2"), any other suggestions? Maybe half way? 1.5" or something like that? Anyone got tips on best places in melb to put them on (pref north melbourne) ? prices? |

Personally I wouldnt be going any lower than mine - it would be way too uncomfortable other wise..
This height is a perfect balance.. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...9&postcount=42

As low as gillards ratings!!
I reckon around town H&R sport is too low, it bottoms out on ramps and speed humps. The rear is good, but the front is just a bit too low, although many homies will disagree. The M-sport front bumper might have a bit more clearance than the standard bumper so this is something to consider too. H&R Sport is F: -1.3" / R: -1.2" |

the e93 is getting the coilovers installed tomorrow
so final thoughts I guess... if xsboost reckons H&R are too low... then I reckon I should probably go for a pretty conservative drop... 1.1" rear 1.2" front ? was that from m sport suspension height or standard suspension height xs? |

I think all 335's have the sports suspension.
I mainly had trouble with the front 'aero lip' on ramps and the bottom of the car would sometimes scrub under the transmission at the crest of ramps at certain shopping centres. That wasn't cool. You might be ok with an m-sport front bumper as they look to have good clearance. |

I've found that the aerolip doesn't really lower the car at all though? Cause it goes over the front bumper, what it will do is reduce your effective departure angle slightly as it sticks out a little from the car... I'm lowered on eibach springs and with my aerolip I've been careful and have escaped 99% scrape free.
That said, I'd prefer to be a little lower lol. |

Regardless of what you choose, it's hard to get it right the first time. 1.2-1.5" all round seems like a good start. Try it and go from there? They're adjustable afterall for a reason |

Aerolip is lower on the ends man!
It's not really a problem, just makes daily driving a PITA and speed bumps and ramps have to be taken diagonally which gets annoying |

Do me a favour... go measure the distance from the centre of yor wheel hub... to the bottom of your guard on all 4 wheels... I will go downstairs and do the same...
Lets compare..... (back soon with measurements..)

Purifyer: Finally got your coilovers, where did u end up installing the suspension? just remember it will take sometime for the springs to settle down. I'm no expert, but a lot of people say it will drop a further 1 cm or so in the next few days - a week. I didnt realise this & when I installed the suspension, about a week later it actually drops further. I had to borrow a friends hydraulic jack & adjust the coilovers my self.
Took me a few days to get height that I like & each corner have their own adjustments because one corner affects the other....a lot of sleepless nights.... |

What he said makes some sense, but I think it would have been a good idea to at least check the alignment before letting you drive away. I am not an expert on this, but 25mm change in height seems enough to put the alignment badly out. Especially the front and rear toe settings. If it was me, I'd be a bit cautious driving around until getting the alignment properly sorted.
