1-2 Transmission Slip

Recently, my transmission has been slipping when shifting 1st to 2nd. It happens maybe once every three days when accelerating from a turn. I haven't replaced anything internal yet besides the fluid at 90k (20k miles ago). Anyone have any advice?

Did you follow the correct re-fill procedure? i.e. between 30c to 50c, preferably closer to 30c. I'd check the fluid level again with the car completely level and top-off as necessary. I experienced the same thing as you on hard left turns when I was about 3/4 quart low, topped it up and I haven't had the same symptoms come up again. Could try changing out the transmission filter as well if you haven't done that yet and you're at 110K miles.

*EDIT* I just saw you have a 330i which comes with the ZF transmission and not the GM. I'm not sure if the refill procedures above apply to the ZF as I have a GM.

Check the easy item first, fluid level. Don't simply add fluid, use the ZF procedure. Temperature is important. This fluid expands when hot.

Probable cause, megatronic seal or solenoid

Does a leaking mechatronic sleeve cause the tranny to slip? Every once in a while I notice a few drops of fluid if I park on a hill.

I followed the ZF fluid fill procedure and adhered to the temp guidelines. Maybe I'll drain and refill again next week to make sure.

If it leaks enough that your trans fluid is low, then yes.

A faulty megatronic seal will not cause the transmission to leak onto your driveway. It's an internal seal between to parts that holds hydraulic pressure. If this leaks too much, your transmission will not have enough hydraulic pressure for proper shifts.

This article mentions the seal but its little "over the top" with the recommendations but it should give you an idea. You can Google more, California Transmission Supply used to have some good articles on their site, but I can't find them tonight.
