Anyone on here have experience with Motorsport Connections in Winston-Salem?

They do walnut blasting for a decent price (I forget exactly what they quoted, but I think it was around $500).

I need my OFHG replaced, so I am thinking of going there and getting both done. It's kind of out of the way for me, but I'm not a big fan of another shop I've used before in Greensboro.

Do you have any experience with Carr industries? They would be more convenient for me than Motorsport connections.

I hate trying to decide where to take my car.... I don't trust anyone.

I have a warranty so they will be paying for the OFHG repair, so I don't care what the cost is, but I'll let you know how much it ends up being.

I have been taking my car to Carr Industries for 3 years now and have had good results with them. They seem to be the most reasonable with their prices as well. A coworker also has been taking his car there as well and has liked them.

Is Carr still doing this? Since no one in Raleigh wants to do it for something reasonable I'm looking around to get this done in the next few weeks.

Ended up taking my 135i to Shade Tree Garage in Raleigh. Really nice people there. $475 for walnut blasting. They did a great job and even gave me a free loaner while they worked on it.

Called them today and got it for $360 for my '11 335is with 86k on it !! $90 cheaper than MP Motorwerks, $200 $300 less than Dynamic Auto Tune and BMW in Matthews. EuroWise is also $200 more and they don't use walnuts, they use soda.

I have never done the walnut blasting on my car, I have approx. 112k on the car wondering if its worth it? I would like opinions on people who have gotten it done.

112k and it's never been done!?

Made a huge difference on my 08 335i. Engine ran way smoother afterwards.

I guess it doesn't really matter if it's running fine. It also depends if it's a n54 or n55 motor. n54s tend to get buildup a lot faster than the n55. Me personally though, I'd want the most performance out of my car so I might do it just for peace of mind.

Just called Carr Industries in Greensboro and they quoted me $700 seems a little high compared to other prices people have posted. Im thinking about taking it there since I havnt been able to find another shop that people recommend near me.

Yeah it's not a common service, so I guess they feel like they can charge a premium. It only takes around 4-5 hours so $700 would be way too high in my opinion.

OUCH! $700 from Carr? They used to charge right around $500 I thought. Wonder why they jacked it up?
